Our first week of school is over. I give a lot of credit to the children for staying on task and working really hard during the heat wave we had. It was very hot in the classroom. Thank you Mrs. Fuller for allowing the boys and girls to take off their ties and undoing their top button.
We spent the week reviewing grade 1 materials and going over the rules and schedules for this year. A lot of new information was given to the children this past week and I'm sure many of them are still uncertain of things. Don't worry, everything will be re-explained again as we go along. In no time they will be old pros.
Next week we begin our specials. Gym days are Tuesday and Thursday.
Please get your chidren here on time; our school day begins promptly at 7:50. Tardiness causes a disruption in the classroom.
Second grade will prove to be a very special year for your child. He/she will receive the sacraments of First Penance (March 22) and First Communion (May 15). More details will be given as the dates approach. Please begin to send your child's Baptismal Certificates in as soon as possible. If your child was baptized at St. Rose and Clement Parish, there is no need to send one in. We already have it on file. Your child will also learn how to write in cursive. The children love this and can't wait to begin learning this new and exciting way of writing.
Mrs. Noreen Mazzie will be joining us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays for guided reading. Mrs. Hogan and Miss Sandra, our grandmother helpers, will be joining us on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings as well.
Please search the rest of my site for other important information.
God Bless,
