Divide paper into 3 columns.  Label each column as noted above:
Be sure to cite the source for each set of notes taken.

Context = relevant info. that occurred during the time of your subject/event

Story = the significant accomplishments during the life or term of your subject

Impact = the historical lasting effect that your subject had on the world

Paraphrase by  putting information into your own words.
After reading a passage that you feel is essential to your  project,
turn source over and without looking at it try to remember its essence.
Then write it in your own words.
If you can't do it after the first try, read passage again more carefully,
and give it another shot.  Don't give up!

Keep notes brief.
Use synonyms for key nouns and verbs.
Reverse sentence patterns if possible.

EXAMPLE:

Original text:

"Fourscore and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation

conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

(Gettysburg Address)

Notes:
Eighty-seven years ago  ancestors
began country  - freedom &  equality

Thus, when it comes time to use these notes in your project, it may read like this:

Our ancestors believed in freedom and equality.  Abraham Lincoln reinforced this
noble truth when he wrote the Gettysburg Address eighty-seven years after we
wrote the Declaration of Independence.

Watch YOUTUBE Video  > "4 Steps to Paraphrasing" for reinforcement.
Finally, check-in with me to review your notes to make sure you're headed
