Dear Parents,
We continue to work hard and move ahead in learning many new concepts. We are working on geometry in Math.
*****The librarian has told me that some children are not returning their books on Monday for Library. Some children have books that are missing. Please make sure any library books are kept in a safe place at home and returned to school on Monday.
*****Math fact tests will continue. Anyone who scored 100% accuracy will be given a new set of flashcards. If your child did not pass the test, they will be given the test again. Please practice each night for the timed test on Friday.
FOUR sentences each night are required in the Nightly Writing Journal. These sentences need to be related. Please have your child read their sentences to you and edit if necessary. I am noticing some journals that are not edited.
We go out to recess every single day unless it is raining or very snowy. Please send your child with appropriate outerwear.
We are now in the fifth Anthology. I am seeing many of the students using strategies as they read (picture clues, using vowel clues and context clues). These are great skills that they will use in each grade.
Ms. Rupert and I are really stressing hand washing in school. I still have to remind children to make sure that they are washing their hands with warm water before leaving the bathroom. We are also using hand sanitizer frequently, especially after sneezing. Please remind your child to keep their fingers out of their mouth, nose etc. These germs are nasty!
